About The AEP Conference
The Academic Event Professional Conference (AEP) began as a specialized workshop by TSEC CEO Sally Webb at the Special Events Show, the annual industry trade event. The popular session was first produced as a stand-alone event when Webb and her team founded the AEP conference in 2006. TSEC remains the official event planning company for the conference.
Share and Create Best Practices Together
The AEP conference provides a rare opportunity for event planners in academe to receive tailored professional development, network with one another, and visit vendors specializing in products for academic environments. Attracting both seasoned planners and industry newcomers, the conference focuses on topics unique to higher education events and helps them share – and create – best practices for the field.
TSEC and AEP Programming Example
In 2022, the 16th annual AEP conference featured impactful keynote speakers, workshops and break-out sessions. AEP 2022 focused on the evolution of academic events in a post-pandemic world, with topics such as:
- How virtual, hybrid, and in-person academic events will look in the future
- Reclaiming the role of academic events in institutional communications and strategy
- Challenges faced by those new to event planning
- Designing events to reach new, diverse audiences
- Creating a healthy work/life balance for event planners
AEP Conference 2024: AUSTIN, TX
February 11-13, 2024, in Austin, TX, at the AT&T Conference Center on the UT Austin Campus.
The conference will begin at the AT&T Conference Center on the UT Austin Campus the morning of Sunday, February 11, and will end Tuesday mid-day on-site at The Special Event Conference at the nearby Austin Convention Center.
